SOUNDS OF... NO BARS ORCHESTRA
Hello and welcome to Sounds of… a podcast created by Drum and Brass, with the support of Arts Council England, in which we explore the impact of art and music on our lives. In today’s episode John Sinclair talks to Davina Vencatasamy, Helen Butterfield and two music students about the newly formed No_Bars Orchestra, set up by Helen Butterfield and the Woodgate Resources Centre with the support of Drum and Brass, Armonia Music and the Leicester Music Hub
We hear Davina and Helen talk about the central aim of the orchestra which is to be truly inclusive - inviting people of all ages, all abilities and all backgrounds to join in and play. Helen talks about a partnership which she has formed between the No_Bars Orchestra and the Leicester Symphony Orchestra leading to a special event when members of the No_Bars Orchestra will play at Leicester’s DeMontfort Hall as part of Leicester Symphony Orchestra’s concert programme on March 5th.
